NTUC Foodfare was appointed by the National Environment Agency to manage several hawker centres across Singapore. Our hawker centres feature a mix of delicious local cuisine and innovative features such as cashless payments through the Foodfare mobile app. We make sure to offer at least one Healthier Choice item at every stall, with half of the offerings at Kampung Admiralty Hawker Centre qualified under the healthier choice label. Productivity initiatives like bulk purchase programmes, automated tray return systems and centralised dishwashing enhance the operational efficiency at these centres.
At the new hawker centres that Foodfare is managing, our diners have to return their own tray and crockery after use – an initiative that we started at Kampung Admiralty Hawker Centre. The stewards (cleaners) at these centres will not be tasked to help return the used trays but only to maintain the cleanliness of the table and the common area. We are embarking on this initiative to promote social graciousness among our patrons and to provide a clean and comfortable dining environment for all.

At Kampung Admiralty Hawker Centre and Pasir Ris Central Hawker Centre, NTUC Foodfare has introduced a range of innovation and productivity measures to help the hawkers and to enhance the experience of our diners. Cashless transaction will be encouraged in this centre via 2 modes of payment – Plus!Cards or Plus!Pay and DBS PayLah!. Diners who top up and use their Plus! Cards can earn Link Points for redemption at these 2 hawker centres and across more than 100 retail points including NTUC FairPrice.
NTUC Foodfare is piloting this initiative, Gift-A-Meal Programme, at Pasir Ris Central Hawker Centre to assist needy residents in Pasir Ris. The programme, which encourages the public to pay-it-forward, is the first of its kind. It allows donations at Pasir Ris Central Hawker Centre in the form of meals at $3.50 each, to be made by the public to gift low income families access to healthy quality meals at any Foodfare locations. By choosing to gift a meal through the NTUC Foodfare mobile app or through the hawkers, the public can pledge and pay for extra meals. Beneficiaries from the Community Development & Welfare Fund will receive the donations through a Plus! card with stored value.
